Since last year, one thing I am totally passionate about is organized space! I realized that when things are organized it actually saves me lots of time. Instead of searching something somewhere don’t know where, organized surface allows me to find things fast because they are located where they belong. Organized place is easier to clean up and that again saves tons of time. I’ve noticed, that it is even harder to make a mess in organized environment. So, I started with wardrobes, moved to my home office organization, rearranged the way things are in our daughter’s room and now is the Kitchen time. Target number one there is Fridge!!! I need an Organized and Clean Fridge. Everyone needs it! And it is, actually possible by following several steps I’d like to share with you in this article.
Organized and clean fridge in 5 easy steps:
Do have a meal plan.
Everything starts from here. If you have a meal plan, most probably, you will not buy unnecessary things.
Do not overstock your freezers and fridge.
Hopefully there is no hunger in near future. And it is not hard to find any kind of desired meat in stores, meaning there is no deficit. So why would we need to stock up as if we won’t be able to find some meat tomorrow or next week?
Go ahead with freezing seasonal fruits and veggies to have a quality product till the following season. But, looks like with meat there is an absolutely no need to do same way.
Good to know: Air needs to circulate around food to keep it cool. A crowded fridge can create warn spots leading to spoilage.
Extra Tip: Do food rotation before grocery shopping trip to see what is hiding there at the back.
Clean your fridge once per month (Have time to do it more often? Even better!).
First of all, it will help maintain it neat and dangerous bacteria free. In plus, it will help to review your stock and what needs to be consumed at first place. Monthly cleaning, as well, helps to realize with what we usually overstock and what requires shopping habits adjustment.
Use glass containers, storage boxes and shelf liners.
Buy several glass containers with lids and start using them ASAP avoiding pots placement in your refrigerator. It adds a lot to fridge organization and you will notice the difference immediately. Therefore, use pots only for cooking!
Shelf liners aren’t the must but are great as an extra protection against spills and leaks. You can cut them down to required size and take anytime out for a wash or soak when required. Plus they can add additional positive colors to you refrigerator’s inside.
Keep a box of Bicarbonate of Soda in your fridge to soak up smells.
With these 5, you definitely will end up with an Organized and Clean Fridge, agree?
